One way to say it 'Oi, desculpe-me o meu portugues nao e muito bom, mas vou tentar' (or estou tentando).

Those computer translation programs have their uses, but they don't always distinguish between multiple uses of words, and they're not idiomatic except on rare ocasions I've found.
