Prior to the primaries, the GOP broke its traditional 'hands off' policy to fund a McCain moderate GOP contender against Graf and others. Graf is running on zero tolerance for illegal immigration. Now, even though Graf won the nomination running against the GOP's funding, the GOP has pulled a million in funding from Graf's campaign.

What do you think of them apples?

I think they are screwed since Hispanics are the nations largest minority, but have the lowest voter turnout. Furthermore, 40% of the entire Hispanic population is under 18, and thus cannot vote. Further yet, another 40% are foreign nationals. To top all that off, the hispanic vote varies with the persons nationality(i.e- a Cuban will vote differently than a Mexican, since they have different concerns). It was a further blunder to assume all hispanics are pro-illegal when many are not. It is a blunder that may cost them, since no one is going to vote in that illegal loving piece of garbage McCain.

I think the GOP needs to stick to its' guns on border enforcement and immigration enforcement, is what I think. The GOP's got holes in it you could drive a truck through after all the fraud and scandals they've been through. It's easy to see why they can't build cohesive policy with all the infighting...I think Graf will probably win, with or without the handouts.

The House has passed border fence legislation, the Senate is working on it, Bush has said he'll sign it if it gets to his desk,
so the dithering on the issue won't accomplish much.

Bottom line is, illegal immigration's illegal. All those that have aided, abetted, turned a blind eye to it, this is their Big Chance to
help build effective, unified, standardized, nationwide policy on this issue, so that

a) no more illegal aliens get used, misused and abused
b)employers are forced to do above-board business
c) the taxpayers stop getting robbed and lied to
d)the borders actually mean something other than a line on a map.
Oh, and don't forget e): It'll really put the hurt on the smugglers.
All in all, I'd say that's win-win-win win-win, the opponents likely have a hand in the cookie jar, all the better to slam the lid shut on.

I'm glad that now I know where everyone stands on illegal immigration in my home state.Arizona is know to think for its self and not to be blindly led.I will not vote party in the coming elections.I will vote for the candidate that holds the same anti illegal views that I do.
I have always thought of my self as a liberal, not a bleeding heart give away the farm liberal . But one who could exercise compassion as well as intelligence.
But I don't care what party a person is from, because my vote and the votes of most thinking Arizonans will go to the person/people that have the best interest of the country, not big business. We in AZ are a independent lot .and we have been awake for a long time to the repercussions of the illegal invasions ,we are on the front line ,as are all border states.Come visit our state and you too will be against any amnesty .

No amnesty
Deportation
Huge Fines and sanctions against
people and company's that hire illegals.

I think with most of the "elected class" ignoring the wants & needs of the middle-class it is time for us to "take to the streets" like the radicals do....for months I have called & written to the major players in the illegal immigration farce...they pat us on the head & pass some little immigration bill to appease us then continue to ignore that the laws on the books (which are sufficient) are not being enforced. Most of the cop agencies here in Fort Worth have said if the bill goes thru on local & state enforcement they will be over-worked - they do not want to stop the illegal just because they are illegal - in short, they want to choose the laws they enforce! Have another donut.... it's time for all middle-class Americans to get radical - "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"

I still feel that money should not run election campaigns. I know many are against tax money be used but the way it is now--money from the rich buys votes. An honest man would have a hard time getting elected.
I wish I had a better answer to this.
Again it doesn't surprise me.
