Of course don't try to forget, yes do live your life. Let yourself feel the grief and also remember the joy grandpa brought to your life. I hope you have some great memories to help you through and keep you smiling when you think of him. In time, things will feel better, even if it feels overwhelming at first. If it seems that you are obsessing and becoming overly depressed, you should at least distract yourself sometimes from thinking, but don't try to forget or even think that you can forget. You can't. If you need to, talk with a close friend, family member, or grief counselor. You can even call a hotline for free. Just look ahead to a few months from now. It may seem like a long time, but you will be in a different frame of mind then. Your grief will go through stages and lessen with time.

No, do not forget him he obviously was special to you. and i am so sorry for your loss. But do try to keep busy now, while still allowing yourself some alone time to cry.
do you have, or can you get some mementos of his life or your special times together? you will appreciate these later, and if you don't get them now they may not be available.
My grammy was my favorite relative. i was 29 when she died. And right when she died I really carried on, crying and pitching a fit for about a week. For months after I would just start crying whenever. It helped that I had an adorable golden retriever puppy to distract me. and it does get easier with time.
Even now 15 years later, I can still cry thinking about her, but mostly I laugh, cause she really was a great person. (smart, stubborn, a great cook) In my mind, I still "talk" to her, and consider how she would handle something when I have a tough decision to make.
Last month, I had to put that same beloved golden retriever to sleep. It helped me to think that she would be in heaven with my grammy who also loved dogs.
There is a Randy Travis song about Grandpas, if you need to cry and can't this should work "He Walked on Water".

Remember, while you're living your life. Remember the funny things and the sad things. Things my grandparents did and said still come back to me at the weirdest times. They are still influencing my life. They were important and they made a difference in my life. Your grandpa was important and he made a difference in your life. Live your life. Your life is a living memorial to him. Make him proud.

I lost both grandma and grandpa but I still think of them sometimes. But anyway you should try to live your life without them and even it's not the easy thing to do but you will get used to it. And don't worry, you don't really lose him cos he is somewhere watching over you.

Try to forget? Why would you want to forget?
You need to remember all the wonderful times you had with him.
It's hard to get over the pain, I'm sure. But pushing ALL the memories away will not help you heal.

difficult emotions when someone you love dies; you won't forget the person altogether, but the pain of loss will ease--try to remember the good in life and try to do positive things with family and friends-hug

Well, you should have private times alone to remember him and cry a little. But you should keep yourself busy with after school activities, and other things to keep your mind off him. But remember to have some time alone every once in awhile or everytime you feel like you have to.
Sorry for your loss :-(
