unless both have the recessive blue gene, there is no chance. If they both have the recessive gene then they have a 25% chance of having a blue eyed babe.

Like someone else said, both parents must be carrying a recessive gene for it and even then the chances are only 1 in 4. However, if Hazel is a recessive color, chances are pretty much nil that the baby will have blue eyes.

Here's a really neat site:

My grandmother had brown eyes and my grandfather had hazel and they had two blue eyed children and six brown eyed children. The two with blue eyes took after my grandfathers own mother because she had blue eyes. But I have always heard that brown eye color dominates. My ex-husband has greenish/blue and I have brown and all my children have brown eyes.

I think it can go anyway. I have Hazel eyes and my husband has brown eyes. Our son ended up with browns and a little hazel ring around the eyes.

There are only two colors of eyes blue and brown. When mixed they make hazel and green. So it is possible for the baby to get green eyes, but not blue. No chance soory ;( I'm hoping for green eyes for my baby, we have the same as you. (blue and hazel) But no matter what color they are I'm sure you'll love em!

Obviously pretty good, cause I have green eyes and my husband has hazel and our daughter has bright blue eyes. My husbands daughter from his first marriage has blue eyes too, so I guess it comes from his line. I joke with him that they came from the milk man.
