the problem is we have no remote with this i brought from my friend and she cant find it some dvds play, others just play the music from the dvd that youd hear in the background does this have anything to do with digital please help me

Most DVDs have to be set up to work with your TV. Usually, the setup controls are only on the remote. You need to track one down and probably a manual too, like the previous answer suggested.

Make sure you have the dvd correctly tuned in, try the AV (1) or (2) channels. Bit obvious statement, but a majority of this type of thing are to look for the simple answers

If you need a remote for it you can go to the manufacturer's website and probably order the remote for it. And if you need the manual for the dvd player you can probably download it from their site too.
