So many faiths are involved in charitable work.

Can we not discuss the possibilities of cooperating to help the aged, the poor, the homeless, the addicts, the battered and abused, the friend-less?

Can we not share our ideas and the ways our various faiths approach problems with the intent of listening and learning so we can bring to our various faiths ideas on how we can help others?

Surely this beats arguing over whose god is better and whether evolution or creationism is right. There is so much hatred poured onto these pages, can we not work together to help those far worse off than us, regardless of their faith and ours?

Yes. We should put God in the center, no matter what name we call Him and help each other to develop pure love for Him. It will automatically include helping all living beings.

I agree. My opinion of Christians and all other faiths was bolstered last year when Hurricane Katrina destroyed my community. So many people of different faiths came to help us and are still here. I cannot have animosity toward these people even though they believe I am Hell bound. They mean well USUALLY.

They helped us all and didn't ask our faith. They are just puzzled at the serenity some of us 'heathens' have...

Not all Christians are as mean as a few are on this forum.

there are a number of places where the Internet has brought people together to share their wisdom and knowledge in helping to support one another. have just had this experience thanks to a lady placing her e-mail address in a newspaper article about her 18 month old daughter having a serious operation. hope i was able to help comfort her a little as i had been through a similar experience years ago. confess this was a really powerful feeling of finally being able to help someone.

That would be a wonderful idea, but there is, sadly, someone who will not understand what faith really is supposed to mean and cannot see the overall purpose of it.

We should not pick and choose whom we wish to help, but help all those in need

good day to you bob :o)

yes we should be using our time more constructivly together instead of hating each other
i have been thinking about setting up a shared religious philosophy group in my area .. that we may listen and discuss each others teachings , to try and bring a little unity to my area
i think this may be something that would easily be set up and perhaps others can think about doing something like this also

That is so very true. I commend you for saying that. I am open to any ideas that you may have to please my Lord by helping others. My 6 year old daughter sang for the elderly at a home last week and they enjoyed it so much.

What is charitable about allowing pedophiles to be your priests?

What is charitable about strapping bombs on your children and having them blow up the innocent women and children of your enemies?

If you want to discuss religion, then expose the false religions so people don't fall into their traps.

Or perhaps to ask for GENUINE spiritual guidance.
It seems there are a lot of hecklers in the religion section.

I would like for all non-believers to ask me to pray for them that they might accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This would cut out all of the fighting.
