Psycho = Psychotic = Needs to seek help through a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist. They're not beyond help, they make medicine for those who are almost over the edge, and mental institutions for those who have already leaped over, they just need constant care from someone and monitored so they don't hurt themselves or anyone else.
I hope this has helped.

Well for a start the word psycho is an umbrella term, incompassing many different things. To summarise psyco can mean two different things, 1) a person experiencing a psychotic episode due to mental illness and 2) a person living with a psychopathic personality disoder. There is an enormous difference between a person who is suffering from a psychotic episode, and a person who has a psychopathic personality. Psychosis is caused through an imbalance of certain chemicals and neurotransmitters within the brain, causing the person to lose touch with reality and experience delusional behaviour, which may be accompanied with paranoia, and both auditory and visual hallucinations. These people are unwell mentally but respond well to medication, as the chemistry of the brain is restored to normality. They also have many normal feelings, unlike a psychopath who is unable to feel on any level. And once in recovery often feel embarrassed and ashamed at what they have done, or what they may of been thinking . People in psychosis are more likely to harm themselves than other people. It is a terrifying illness that the sufferer has little or no control over. Somebody who is classified as being psychopathic on the otherhand is deemed not to have any chemical changes within the brain, and therfore they are unable to respond to medications. Recent studies have shown that they do have a marked difference in the shape of the frontal lobe, but to date there has not been enough research into this to determine whether this is the primary cause of psychopathy. A psychopath is usually diagnosed as having a psychopathic personality disorder, which results in the person not being able to have any normal feelings for others. Therefore if they commit a crime of murder they are unlikely to feel any remorse toward their victims, in fact it can sometimes lead to excitement and a self fulfilling prophecy. Indeed they are very sick individuals and do require treatment. Staistics show however that treatment is often unsucessful and relapse of their behaviour following treatment is high. The main explanations for psychopathic disorders are environmental, biological, genetic and early trauma. Really you need to look at the nurture versus nature debate. It is important however to make a fair differentiality between the two. Mental health continues to have a hugh stigma attached to it, and if somebody is in psychosis, they are mentally ill and not mentally disordered. Hope this answers your question

I don't believe that people who are psychotic are beyond help. There may be some, but not everyone is placed in this category. A psychopath is someone who does things basically without thinking, that cause harm to themselves or others. They can say things like they want to stab someone or say vicious things that you cannot believe anyone would admit, but the feelings are there. If they stopped and thought about what they were saying, there is no doubt that perhaps they would not say it at all.
It also can mean that they are not in their own mind. They are literally out of their mind, like they blank out, and their actions are not controlled by them at the moment. (Even though we all are responsible for our actions).
Sadly, there are many people that have already reached the point where there is no going back, where they have to be locked up for their own safety, but mostly for other's safety.
Hon, there is always help. If you know someone or you yourself suspect a psychopath near you, don't give up on them. You may have to keep your distance, but take advantage of the times when they go into a psychotic episode to call 911 and get them some help. There are ways of getting help. Contact a social worker in your county if you are concerned. I hope I have helped you. Take care.

A term for someone who experiences psychosis.
Psychics, proffets, visionaries, schizophrenics, brain tumours, epileptics, fasting people, lack of sleep, side effects of medication, hallucinogenic recreational drugs, withdrawal from medications or alcohol, poisoning, too much lead in the body, fumes from hydrocarbons, bad food, dehydration, exhaustion etc etc etc all of these things can cause psychosis.
It's not really a bad thing, it just has a bad name because people hate that which they fear and they fear that which they don't understand.
Psychosis and behavior are two seperate things but people have a tendency to blame bad behavior on psychosis. Psychosis by itself is not harmfull, how could it be?
Nostradamus was psycho. Jesus also had visions, Abraham and even JF Kennedy envisioned in the sixties that man would go to the moon that decade.

If the two have been on television on the same time, i'd in all risk watch Psycho. yet it is barely via fact I very own American Psycho! No, yet heavily, i admire Psycho greater via fact that is form of a secret and not so image. American Psycho is purely chilling and almost too image for me. i will purely watch that movie each so oftentimes in any different case i'm going to initiate hating it! .... Norman! He has a split character and easily contains out his crimes....Patrick, properly that is ambiguous no count if or not he kills human beings...much less so interior the movie, greater so interior the unconventional. yet, i would not prefer to fulfill the two of them in an alley or dark highway! :D

A psycho is someone that displays psychotic behaviour. It isn't someone who's beyond the help of a psychiatrist. In fact, a psychiatrist or a psychologist is precisely the sort of person that they should be dealing with.

A psychopath is someone who can harm or kill without feeling any remorse for their victim. They also become extremely physically strong in moments of rage and should not, in my opinion be walking the streets freely. Try telling that to the Home Office though!
Oh, and there is NO treatment for psychopaths and if anyone wants to argue that one, feel free as I have had first hand experience of a psycho and so have my kids. This one one mental illness that cannot be treated with drugs!!!!!!

if you find yourself pulling the wings off flies for no other reason than you like to inflict pain; if you get a buzz in your head where you think you're hearing voices that tell you to hurt yourself or someone else; if you're reading this with a phone directory in one hand and a 16'' hunting knife in the other hand please go to your happy place and don't come out without giving everyone round you a fair chance to run!!

If someone is not, continious thinking about it makes them so! Just have a healthy lifestyle, be out and about, lots of outdoor living and fun and games. Life is about living, not constant grieving, regrets, moping, etc, etc Self doubt, low self esteem makes you withdraw from social interaction. That will make anyone nuts!
