Because he doesn't heal anything. He'd have to exist to do that.

I love it: amputees either aren't asking to be healed or the ones who are praying aren't praying hard enough??? So, it's THEIR fault? Let's all pick one amputee--I have a friend who would do nicely--and have everyone, everywhere, pray for his leg to grow back. Wanna make bets on what will happen?
How very convenient that god chooses not to heal the one thing you could actually SEE, something that would be so miraculous that you'd think "he" would do it once in a while just to show off and get those of us who don't believe to shut up. But, no. Don't you see the depths of the brainwashing going on here? Look at the ridiculous arguments you are forced to make because you won't even consider the idea that you've been deceived about this all this time.
I'd like to add: yes, there's spiritual healing. Yes, the human body is programmed to heal certain things. But you can't have it two ways: I've seen Pat Robertson on his ridiculous show sit there with his co-hosts and claim that god is physically healing some sort of condition, like an ulcer or whatever, right at that moment. If god allegedly heals some physical ailments, why NEVER does it heal an amputation? Does god hate amputees for some reason?

A hundred years ago, before I was a Baha'i, when I was young, gorgeous and slim (alas, no longer), I would see someone in a wheelchair and feel sympathy for that person. At the time, I was spiritually dead. Physically young and beautiful (and slim, don't forget), but dead. The walking dead. I wouldn't have believed it if you had told me. I danced every night. Really "lived" life--I thought. Then, I kept running into the Baha'i Faith. Eventually investigated it. Turns out, I hadn't been living at all. I was among the walking dead. I think back on that man in a wheelchair, now, and I realize that he may have been the "whole" one, and I the amputee--maybe my heart missing. I don't feel sorry for amputees anymore. I realize that the physical body is pure illusion. It's the spiritual body that is either live and thriving, or dead.
Our bodies are like birdcages' and, we are like bird's within the cage. If a wire is missing on the cage, the bird is still whole. When we leave this body behind, the bird (soul) is free to take flight. Until then, the soul is the real person, the body only the vehicle it uses to function in. Now, I feel sorry for the spiritually amputated, the spiritually dead. I know now the body, whether beautiful, or amputated, is just a vehicle. It's really not important.
God does heal--spiritual amputees, like I was before I found the Faith. He made me whole in the only way that matters--spiritually.
God bless you.

Maybe because God has the same kind of existence as Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam, the Geico gecko, the tooth fairy, and Santa Claus. They're all characters that speak for causes, but only have power through the actions we humans take in their name.
It's impossible for one man in a red suit with eight (or nine) flying reindeer to deliver presents to all the Christian households around the world (or even in the U.S.) in one night... yet hundreds of thousands of children DO find gifts on Christmas morning.
That's human action.
Fellowship, community, reflecting on our higher goals, celebrating life's joys, supporting each other in sorrows, and doing our part to make this world better for ourselves and our fellow travelers -- THESE ARE ALL REAL, with or without gods and demons, whether done in God's name or not.
The dark side is when god stories completely take over people's lives and COST them (or other people!) significant time, money, freedom, fulfillment, growth, and happiness; and sometimes life itself.
God stories arose because we are pattern-seeking and answer-seeking beings. When I want to move my hand to grasp something, I just *will* it, and it "just happens", seemingly magically. (I share the majority's good fortune of having two working hands.) We take that for granted. Why does the wind blow? Why do crops grow (or not)? Why do the days get shorter in the fall, and will they ever get longer and spring come back? It was easy to imagine spirits that just *willed* natural events, culminating in "super-spirits" that have power over the entire world.
This life is all we have. It counts.
(The only 'evidence' for an afterlife is beliefs founded ultimately on gut feelings. Nobody's come back from heaven or hell to tell us about it.)
Since the scientific revolution that started in the Enlightenment, we've had much better tools to ask and answer questions. If amputees ever get healed, with restored limbs, it will be humans who do it. The author of whydoesgodhateamputees.com argues eloquently for us humans having THE POWER TO ULTIMATELY CREATE A HEAVEN ON EARTH.

God does everything for a reason. The amputee still is able to have a productive life and function normally. Modern medicine has made several advancement for amputees.

Good question. It has something to do with the fact that he doesn't exist.
After all the 'wholly babble' clearly states in In Matthew 7:7 Jesus says:
"Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! "
So, basically, if someone asks something of god, god will do it. Now, what more selfless request could there be but a child asking god to give his daddy new arms so he can give her a hug?
None.
But it never happens, despite Minsters's outright lies (tell me, do you christians EVER tire of lying and fraud?) it's never happened.
Nor will it ever.
Because god is imaginary.
Nothing more.

Because god is a sadist. God is at the root of all of the hate and violence that is tearing the world apart right now. God enjoys watching us suffer because it's his own personal little amusement show.

Everything happens for a reason. Have you ever noticed how amputees and other wheelchair bound people inspire others to be all they can be. They play basket ball. Some are executives in corporations, etc.
They inspire normal people to improve themselves. If they can do it, so can I. I have great respect for them and I know things are difficult for them. Still they rise above the challenge.

He does. The amputated limb actually grows a new body and becomes a healthy happy person again. Of course this new person usually wakes up in an incinerator and is burned or underground and suffocates or in the belly of some animal who kinda gets an extra meal for free.
You see, it's just that god has a good sense of humor and gets a real chuckle out of this approach.

Matthew 7:7-Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
The amputees arnt asking God to heal them and the ones that do arnt praying enough. God doesnt heal just becuase the persons there. You have to go to God in prayer and make your request.
And of course the first thing you need before evan praying is faith that He will answer your prayer.
Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
