...I know I'm not a native to these beautiful mountains, and I've only moved here recently, but I've visited them all my live and think that they provide one of the most beautiful environments on earth. I try to be ver careful to live conservatively here, but I am aftaid of what construction and mining are doing to our beautiful home.

ANy ideas?

Im from WV and see alot of this problem. The clear-cutting and strip-mining.I know we cant completely stop logging and mining, we need the resources, but maybe plant a few trees for every tree they take down.Selective cutting is supposed to be practiced too but its not.Personal property gets destroyed alot by people buying land just to timber it and then not replanting. If the government would begin using the alternative energy sources that are out there it would help a great deal but with the money made in coal and oil thats not gonna happen too soon.

Rub Jam over the naked body of G W Bush and tie him to a tree in the wild places with a brace of roast pheasants about his neck... then sit back in a deck chair with a pair of binoculars and a six pack of Sam Adams and some chips and see what gets him first, a 1000 pound Grizzly or a hungry Cougar.

Invite the Sierra club and Greenpeace to the event, which could be a charity fundraiser, and use the proceeds to buy up as much wild as you can so that the next Bush ( which ever one they pull out of where ever) has less to ruin.

Best wishes for success...

Yeah we should do the same for these forests, as we should do for the Amazon Rain Forests. Take all the British and American troops out of Iraq (and anyone else who would like to help) , and send them to these places to stop whoever is destroying them ! This is a big issue, and nothing will be done 'til its too late I'm afraid !
