Hell No! If Allah says it is HARAM then by all means it is HARAM!! You should rather drown then be saved by a life saving dog!
Better yet pull the life saving dog down with you so that you may redeem your soul a little for having a dog try to save you!

Of course! The dog is a useful animal, mainly in hunting and protecting your property.It is a partnership between you and your dog:you offer him food, training, accomodation to your dog, and he offers you protection and support.When you will fall into a water, the dog will save you...
Oh...i know a tale from the Bible, which sounds like this: A man was trying to get rid of his old dog, and he took the dog to a river.He threw the dog into the river, but the dog swimmed and came out.He tried this for about two times, and the third time, he slipped away in the river, due to the muddy banks. The dog which he tried to drown saved him from drowning, and took the man out of the water, and sat near him, compasionately.The man understood that is not a good thing to decide on other's life or death, no matter it's importance and took the dog home.

"in the process the life of Allah's Apostle, the dogs used to urinate, and bypass in the process the mosques (come and pass), nevertheless they on no account used to sprinkle water on it (urine of the dogs.)" infidel failed :)

Why is your question directed only at Muslims? A lifesaving dog does not distinguish between Muslim and Christian.
