looking good. I've never used it but I've been told it feels greasy and wonder what you guys think? Anyone my age (24yo) use it? What does it feel like/smell like? Does it do the job, and what's the best way of putting it on and getting it off? Cheers lads.

Its nice of your dad to tell you that brylcreem maybe suitable, but personally the whole cream has a stigma surrounding it, what with dads using it, it shows the product is more for a mature and older age, the smell also reminds us of grandad. Try something less greasy.

Brylcreem have made a new range, targetting young adults, its more a see-through blue packaging, see if you can find something along those lines.

Sounds like dad is from the same generation as my father in law (he is 78) - he still uses it daily. Brylcream was big in the 50's and early 60's - and is quite heavy and greasy.

Try a styling gel instead - there are several products out there that will work well in all types of weather - including humidity.

Spilt ends are a natural part of hair growth. They are just old hair and are inevitable. They will not cause your hair to 'break off' and cease growing. The only way to prevent dead or split ends is to trim them off every six to eight weeks. This doesn't make the hair grow faster like some people say it will, it just neatens it up a little. My hair and beauty teacher told me this at my last college a while back. Serum would be good at protecting your hair if you straighten in regularly, but only add a small amount. You may have to experiment before finding one that suits you.

You can try it, but if it is anything like the "greaser" creams they used back then, I would avoid it. I have seen many older men of the Brylcream generation have dandruff. You may want to ask you friends what they use.

Brylcream is definitely greasy if you over do it, it reminds me of my Dad, it has a certain smell about it.
