I am a very devout Roman Catholic. It is OK to date your boyfriend and by your EXAMPLE (not preaching) perhaps he will become interested in the Catholic faith. Show him that Christians love one another speak kindly, and help the poor. In time, he may see the love that you do and express interest in becoming a Catholic. In the meantime, keep the dating casual. If you reach a point where the relationship becomes more serious, ask your priest for his direction. You can marry a non-
Catholic, but sometimes (not always) marriages with different religions are difficult. I do have a good Catholic friend who is married to a Methodist minister and they have a wonderful marriage. Pray to the Blessed Mother for her intercession. I would also recommend that you pray to St Philomena, as she was a young girl who gave her life to Christ, she may have a special place in her heart for someone like you. Do not worry about the anti-Catholic bigotry that is displayed at this forum from time to time. I have studied the faith from the Bible to Christian history, and I can assure you, the fullness of truth remains in the Catholic church. This is not to say others do not also have truth, but when they become bigoted, they cross a line that makes meaningful dialog difficult. God bless you.

No its not, and i am sorry to say your education is lacking. Henry 8th didn't invent Protestants and we are baptised "properly" The main force behind the Protestant religion was Martin Luther. Also Jesus did not "found" the catholic church. He was dead a long time when it came about. If anything the catholic church is man made along with all the other christian churches.
Again you are showing your lack of education, Do you think the Protestant church is a whole different religion? Jesus is the founder of Christianity, not the catholic, baptist, protestant or any other church man made those. The Church of Scotland (Protestant) believes in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and proclaims Jesus Christ crucified, risen and glorified. The two main sacrements are baptism and Holy communion. As to St Peter man proclaimed him Pope not Jesus. Jesus said he would be the rock that his church was built upon. In this he meant Christianity.

I hate to break it to you, but protestants live more accordingly to Bible doctrine then do Catholics.
Catholics do not believe in the 10 commandments of the Bible, and created there own, check your catechism to that of Exo 20.
Baptism is done by immersion, proven scripturally, not via sprinkling, and must be done as a choice, babies should not be baptised as they know not what is happening.
Listen, you pray to saints correct? Ecc 9:5 says the dead know not anything.
Acts 2:29 says that david is still dead an buried. The Bible speaks of a ressurection of the dead, not that we die and goto heaven or hell which is unbiblical.
Joh 5:29, Joh 11:24, Act 24:15, Revelation chapter 20 will give you an account of both ressurections. talking to the dead is forbidden by God, this includes the saints.
Lev 20:27
also; 1Ch 10:13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it; (Saul tried to talk to samuel the prophet after he had passed, one righteous and holy man)
If your read the Bible and are true to yourself, you will realise that the Bible is a constant rebuke to catholicism, anyway friend i hope this gains your interest, if you don't believe what i have said to be true, or can prove otherwise from doctrine, email me on c0d14@hotmail.com
God bless!!

Yes it is wrong on your part to link love and religion. Did he put any condition on your religion? If not why do you? If your being Catholic creates a problem you can either quit being a Catholic or stop thinking that you are a friend to him.

No it isn't you have a right to be with who you like and don't let anyone persuade you different, I am catholic and have never had a serious relationship with anyone of the same religion as me because to me it's who you are not your religious beliefs that define you.

what difference does this really make in your relationship? if you both care for each other and respect each others differences there is nothing wrong with going with each other. just respect and care for each other and don't worry about the small things as there will be more difficult problems to solve as time progresses. good luck !
