Hi there !

Any fracture ..for a "union" to occur.
it need 3 weeks of time
if provided "proper immobilisation." !

"Malunion" and "Non union" are two of the complications of fracture..where in the "union" may take place "wrongly" or "may not take place" within the stpulated time..

Believe me.., these complications have become very rare nowadays.. due to the expertise on the part of the orthopaedicians and the availability of more orthopaedicians.
Also... absolute co-operation from the patients is required in 3 weeks immobilisation.

If non-union is observed , maybe more time is given for immobilisation ..maybe with a fresh POP..!

wishing you a speedy recovery..

AS SOON AS YOU GET THE FRACTURE YOU HAVE TO SEE THE DOCTOR. HE ADVISE FOR X-RAY. THEN HE WILL PUT THE PLASTER USUALL Y IT TAKES 3 WEEKS TO UNITE A FRACTURE. BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE MONTH. IF IT IS A MULTIPLE FRACTURE THEN DOCTOR WILL OPERATE AND PUT ROD. WHICH HAS TO BE REMOVED AFTER ONE MONTH. IN YOUR CASE YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.

Have you seen a doctor?.

You must see a doctor, again, he must have you go for X'ray.

It is the easy and the right way. The doctor may have to pin the pieces togather or put it in a cast of some kind(removable or permanant).
