It can mean that when appling for credit you may have given incorrect information (earnings, address, ect) And it has been reported-get your credit report and speak to a customer rep they'll help you clear it up!!!

Either you requested there be a fraud alert be placed on you credit report or someone has noticed some strange activity.

Its not that bad of a thing unless you are trying to get a credit card. It basically means that anyone checking your credit will need to be extra cautious before approving you or anyone claiming to be you for credit.

That means anyone seeking credit in your name will have to have his or her identity verified. When an alert is activated with a credit bureau they automatically forward the alert to the remaining two bureaus. It is meant to help protect you against credit fraud.
