I've had experiences with both knocking at the door...( some Mormons do proselytize) and my cousin is a JW...Their beliefs are very restricting as to what they can do, and it is a CULT! ( I had some experience being in a different cult, so I know how they brainwash their members into complete submission and obedience to the so called church. It's leader was someone named Russell Taze...
I have friends who were formerly Mormon, or the church of Latter day Saints...(same thing) This religion too, brainwashes it's members...Their leader was Joseph Smith, who founded the church, who believe, among many other non truths, that Christ appeared on some hill in the Us and founded the Mormon church..( It's something similar to this)
Look up links suggested by others, if you want to learn more...but I would steer clear of becoming a member of either group!
True and pure Christianity comes from believing in Christ, and following the ways of life that he taught while He walked the Earth...Be very careful, (speaking from my experience) because some of these churches can mess up your mind, and take over your life....they use guilt and brainwashing, and it's expremely difficult to leave some organizations....

Jehovah's Witnesses believe the Bible completely.
Mormons follow the book of Mormon which was written centuries after the Bible was completed.

Jehovah's witness believe that the "watchtower society" is inspired by God, even with its numerable false prophecies. They can't commun with or read anything or with anybody that speaks against the watchtower or they will get excomunicated. They don't eat the bread or wine at the eucharist, because only 144,000 Jehovah's witnesses can goto heaven.
Mormon's believe that they can ascend unto Godhead, and that Joseph smith is inspired. I'm not too sure what else they believe.
Both religions believe that you must be apart of them to get to heaven. Whereas most baptists, adventists, and many other protestants believe that if we follow Christ, we can be saved.

I will include a link to an article that tells what Jehovah's Witnesses believe. It is very different from Mormons.
At the right hand side of the page you will see the table of contents. The third one down is "What do they Believe." At the bottom of that page is a box that states our beliefs as well as the scriptural reasons for the belief. Please take the time to examine these Bible verses in your own copy of the Bible.

for information on Jehovah Witnesses go to www.watchtower.org. we are not a cult as people keep saying. we worship Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. Jesus is the head of the Kingdom Halls all around the world. mormons marry many woman which is against the law. we as Jehovah Witnesses do eat lobster. we take our children to the doctor and they are up to date on shots. many people think we don't take our children or see a doctor. Jehovah wants the best for us. we don't except blood, even if I was not a witness I would never take of blood, to many people have died from it. a cult lives in one state and worships man. we live in 235 lands and live in homes. we could be your next door neighbor. we don't go to war because we are all brothers and sisters and why would I want to kill my brother or sister.. people don't like us because we will not cheat on our husbands or wife's. people in other religions cheat on there spouses. they don't take there vows and keep them. we stay with our husband or if we are a man our wife's till death do you part.

They are both cults - obsessed with works as a way to earn salvation - they call each other cults - they both are in great error about Jesus - they both had to invent their own religious books because they did not like what the bible said

They are both false religions. Dont mess with them. If you want to know more get the book The Kingdom Of The Cults by Walter Martin and it will explain in detail why these religions dont line up with the Bible.

Jehovah witnesses can't eat lobster...i think.. I'm not entirely sure. I really don't know. I'm just as confused as you are. Haha.

Mormons dress better are are slightly more educated.
