Not where i live In Poland its all weird shapes but not square.
Its a nightmare trying to get it out of the toaster.
I know in the UK its a round of bread which is a daft description when most of it is square.
I Think there are other daft things like "a round of drinks"
A round of golf etc

The scots call it a piece. you can buy round bread, a round of bread sounds like your buying a round of drinks

Bread is only square when it's been baked in a square tin. If the dough is shaped like a loaf and baked "au naturel" you'll get a (almost!) round loaf.
