First off, congratulations on your baby and and losing 26 lbs. Alot of people envy that, I'm sure. As for the ab exercises, 400 crunches a day is awesome. Don't worry about doing a full situp, what you are doing works better anyway. Crunches really hit the upper abs well.

Side crunches work the sides of your stomach and are basically where your knees over to one side and crunch up. I'd say start with about 50 on each side. You can also use your medicine ball to do twists to work the sides as well.

For the lower abs, basic things like reverse crunches or more advanced exercises like leg raises, flutterkicks, etc. work fairly well. Just be mindful of your back and try not to arch it.

Good luck!

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

I've found the best way to get tighter abs and if you are not able to do regular sit-ups as I'm not, do crunches. Just lay down on the floor like you are doing a sit up and just pull your head up until you feel the muscles in your belly tighten up. I did that after my pregnancy and my muscles are tight again. The only thing left is the extra skin my baby gave me.

Hope this helps.

cardiac work out is the best way. try brisk walking for 45 min a day. aerobics is also a good bet. swimming flaunts your figure. a healthy diet with 5 portions of vegetables and fruits a day is fine. expect u,r flat abs a bit slow as its an area were more fat accumulates and reduces slowly. the above said works for the entire body.

i would try doing some pilates - usually you can get a video from the library or the store.

You may also want to see if you can hunt down a Tony Little "Awesome Abs" work out - you won't be able to move your first week or so of doing them - but they definately work! I'd try hunting it down on ebay, amazon, or maybe a thrift store/yard sale.

It sounds like you definately have the discipline to keep working out - that's a big step!

you may also want to try a program like Curves (if its in your area? i'm pretty sure they're national) - I've had several friends who've joined their program with a lot of sucess.

Best of Luck to you!
