no, there are too many religions out there who push thier belief systems on people instead of letting the people decide. That's my biggest problem with religions, push push push, oh and the whole hypocritical thing too.

I don't know what incentives you are talking about. The missionaries I've known use their Bible and their prayers and show God's love and forgiveness to people. I never had an incentive to believe in God and Jesus other than He loves me unconditionally and paid the ultimate price to save me. Yes, they give them medicine to take care of the sick, teach the children and show the love of God to people. I don't think that is coersion. I can't speak about the Muslims other than the fact that they promise men 72 virgins when they get to their heaven.

No! and No!

You have a choice :-
to believe that you can come back as a dung beetle in the next life if you are not satisfied with your lot or
to believe that God is love and wants the best for you, that work is rewarded and go to heaven to be with a loving God when you die.

No prizes for the choice I make. Not a bribe, just the truth.

When you have the truth, no coersion can make you reject it, not even death.

People use "hooks" to get you to pay attention but any Christian knows the Holy Spirit of God is the only one who can truly convert or save a sinner and change him into a new creation fit for God to call them son or daughter. Some people use inappropriate gimmicks, but they are, after all, only people, not God Himself. Lots of horrible stuff has been done in the name of God.

you are right that is what they do..is it right..NO not according to the Bible. It isn't about Religion, it should be about What is acceptable to God. After all he wrote the book. There are some definite guidelines and commands, yet the majority of "Religions" ignore these or change them to please the masses. If you have to force someone to belive or bribe them it won't last very long.

not in my opinion as each method overlooks the basic rights of others to choose the way they worship because of free will and freedoms each mortal has to these. can understand each various Belief System presenting their version and answering questions about the same but brute force or coercion is going against what I personally feel freedom of choice and free will.

It depends on what they are offering...I tend to only take things that involve money or candy, so far no relegion has offered me money they all just want it but I have gotten a free meal outta one once. But thats no candy so Im still agnostic.
