Yes.
Smoking temporarily raises blood pressure and gives you energy.
It releases tension built up in your body, leaving you to feel relaxed and at ease.

Smoking helps you relieve your full stomach after a hardy meal.
Smoking helps you release when you are constipated on the toilet.

Smoking looks sexy.
Smoke, distributed nicely in the air, smells wonderful.
When former smoker like me see you smoke, I become envious.
I'd wish I were the one puffing on the cigarette, feeling the rush of nicotine through my lungs and body.

Doggone it!! I want a menthol!!!
.... Wait. I am only speaking the truth. But if you have never tried it, then quit being curious. Take it from me. I quit for a year, and that is why my cravings are so high and low.
But I am glad I did because I care more about the long run than a quick fix.

Kitty,
Yes there is. I smoke cigars and I get a lot of relaxation from doing so. They calm me, relax me and give me a real good feeling all over. I don't smoke very many a day, but when I do smoke one it's truly a very enjoyable time.

my dad used to say this when i reminded him about his smoking habit... "do you want me to live forever? you do know that my dad, your grandfather, lived to the age of 108 though he smoked a lot, do you? if i don't smoke than i might live longer than you" ... so, guess you can say that the benefit of smoking is you won't live forever...

recent research indicates that people use nicotine to self-medicate for depression. It would be better to just go to the Dr. and get some anti-depressants.
