Most of the jews were worldy people by the time the Messiah came into his ministry. They believed that he would give them worldy power, they misinterpreted his second coming. Through their vain worldiness and tradition, they interpreted the scriptures how they wanted it (much like many ministers today), they didn't realise anything about a suffering saviour. Althought some knew more then others, and the head priest even knew that one must die for Israel.
Its sad though, because the God of the fathers was Jesus, it had always been Jesus. Most of the times the word Lord, God or Jehovah were used in the Old Testament, it was referring to Jesus.
Joh 11:47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
Joh 11:48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
Joh 11:49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
Joh 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
Joh 11:51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
Joh 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Joh 11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
(This was after Jesus raised Lazurus by the way, the Jews new he was the Son of God, but were too proud to repent, and favoured the praise of man rather then God.)
God Bless!!

Your answer is in your question "if Jews and Christians accept the same God from the Old Testament...?"
They agree somewhat on that, but as for the New Testament there is a problem.
Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and Jews believe he was a criminal.
Although the history is the same, the identity of God is argued and it is not merely tiltles.

Christian do settle for the OT as a holy e book. you won't be able to proper understand the NT in case you do not realize the OT. both the NT and OT are the note of God. Jesus got here to fulfil all that change into written about him interior the OT. i'm no longer confident the position you acquire your 1Cor6:9 quote from. The NIV has precise the following: "Do you no longer do not ignore that the depraved received't inherit the dominion of God? do no longer be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor gay offenders nor thieves nor the grasping nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the dominion of God. and that is what a number of you've been. yet you've been washed, you've been sanctified, you've been justified interior the call of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God." a million Cor 6:9-11. I checked another translations and did not locate any that pronounced killing every person. Which translation did you make the most of?

Jews believe that there is only one God, not a Trinity and different manifestations of God. It's not only that they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah but also they have a different concept of Messiah, I mean they believe he will be a human being with a certain task, not a manifestation of God or son of God like Christians believe.
Jews also don't believe in original sin which had to be atoned by Jesus. So there is a difference in concepts, not just names.

Man (a false God; Gen. 3:5-6) has added (at least in this country roughly 100 years ago) things to God's word. The Jews called the Almighty, Lord. (Amongst other things). He was the Lord; the Lord Jesus Christ. (However, because (possibly) of the 100 year old addition, many people in this country do not connect the two).
Unfortunately, it is not the only deviation from God's word.

Read the Gospels, particularly Luke, about where Jesus weeps for Jerusalem when he arrives on the donkey for His final Passover week.
He weeps because He forsees their destruction, which happened exactly as He describes in the Luke account, some 40 years later in the year 70 A.D. by the Romans, and He says it will be because they did not "recognize the time of their visitiation", in other words, the Jewish people in general at Jerusalem refused to recognize or acknowledge that Jesus is also God in the flesh. Otherwise, yes it is the same God for all people.

The Jews believe that God made evrything. Thast ther is Adam and Eve and that He led the Isrealites to a better place and saved them from being slaves, ana eveything in the first testament. But then when it comes to the New testament, they don't believe that God made Jesus out of a virgin and that Jesus died for our sins. Everything stops at the 1st tetament. But yes Jesus is the son of God adn all together that is the trinity includiong the Holy Spirit. Jesus i God in himan from and hte Holy Spirit in spirit form. But the Jews of course don't believe that. God needed a way to help th people on Earth so He decided to haev Jesus made out of a virgin. And when He wants someone to be filled with His spirit, He has the Holy Spirit. So God is really three in one.

The Pharisees knew who Jesus was (See John 3:1 & 2) The Pharisees refused to accept Jesus as God and as the Messiah because Jesus was critical of the way that the Pharisees conducted their affairs. They were truly religious, in that they said and did all the right things in public, but behind the scenes theyj failed to keep the law. He called them hypocrites. The Jews have not change in 2000 years. From time to time God has punished Israel for its hypocricy and shall continue to do so until Israel gets the message. Christianity is no different---God punishes us also for our hypocricy.

Jews and Christians Don't beliv ein the Same G-d. Maybe they started out that way, but over the last 2000 years the religions evolved far away from each other.
