I've got an R.S essay and i can't seem to find anything or even think fo anything to write! please help on your opinoins or sites on what peopl think about god in today's world..
If god existed he wouldn't be for wars that are happening in today's world. why doesn't he stop them?..

I think that more and more people need him, we have wars, depression, no sense of purpose in life etc. but people have 'lost faith' in him. So i think the people who acknowledge him do so as they are comfortable with life, but the people that need him turn away as they feel that "why have you made my life **** god, oh well u dont exist then"
I think that he is needed:
- to give people a sense of purpose
- increase our learning and evolve us spirituality, as a nation i think we are kind of stuck in a rut
-to unite us and create common ground, if everyone said ''we all believe in god, all right they are in different ways,but we all believe' i think this may stop lots of religious conflicts.
- give people inner peace thus reducing stress and depression etc
I think he isnt needed becuase:
-he causes conflict, if no one believed there would be no religious conflict
- We are so techniclally and scientifically advanced people think they have everything they need in data and numbers
- we seem to be able to cure anything, do anything etc so we have less need to pray to god
I think in the essay to get good marks you need to give both sides of everypoint such as the religious conflict one, also give good quotes from people and give a judgement at the end " i think god is or isnt needed becuase..." and sum it up.
To the question why doesnt god stop wars, from my religion (pagan and im also 16) i think that the only way for mankind to learn what is good and bad is to learn from mistakes, experience is the best teacher. I think god is being cruel to be kind and shows us their power through natural distaters and things such as the aurora. I think they could easily intervine with us messing things up but this would defeat the point of trying to teach us

We all need to beleave in something
me i beleave in my-self nothing else
god is fictional
but the power of religon is a lot more than god
religon is where our basic human rights and law came from
a punishment for breaking this law back in the day was the treat of going to hell
hell was worse than anything that life could throw at us
the truth is a king or queen would have the power over the pope and the pope would rule and inflicked the law and its values
Problem was the popes were so good at there jobs and took over the kings and had abserlute power
At first a king could be made a god if he chose and would make the pope (or what ever there name would be) change the king into the god
Look at this a differant way if i said to every one i know that in three days the sun will turn blue and it did i would be a profit and from there i could tell any made up story i wanted and people would beleave it
it would not even have to come true i could just say i did and people would beleave it
so yes god may not be needed any more but we all need to beleave in something so it might as well be gods
WARS are made from those people that beleave that there own god or religon or law is the right one, if who ever, told them (eg the pope) that all other religons and beleaves are not corect and they must fix it blar blar blar wars begin
GOD will not stop wars we as people could but we don't
repect others and what they beleave and this might stop the hated in the world

God will eventually step in and save this world at the end. But this world thinks it can do very fine right now on its own. Children have been brainwashed by schools on the evolution theory, that they are convinced they don't need God. it is a very sad state of affairs as this world needs God more than ever. Why do people then blame the state of disaster on God? First they deny He exists and if He does exist then they want to say He should have done this or that, really God cannot win those people. They are stiffed neck and have hardened their heart.

I think God is still needed for the people that believe. I don't, I'm just thinking, what would happen if there wasn't one for the believers to follow? I think they'd be pretty lost. Some people feel secure having a God.
Oh, and the wars bit? If I was to believe in God, you've got to think about it, did he start the wars? Nope. People and all their imperfections started wars, why should he have to stop them? Maybe, he thinks enough wars will make people think they're not a good thing. There is a great percentage of people that already think that, but unfortunately a lot of them aren't in positions of power. So, history repeats itself and the wars go on.

Well put it this way, most of the terrible wars costing millions of lives in the last century were the result of either ATHEISTIC(liberation theology which does not believe in god but in communism as a force to destroy the current "bourgeoise") or OCCULT ideology(superstitious belief in spirits or "ascended masters" as with the Nazis which believes that WWE are all gods), not because of belief in God!
I believe that i you quote facts from history you can present a case that will shock your peers who probably don't know what hey are talking about anyway if they think God did all this than a bunch of guys who thought we were all gods or that there was no god all in the same century !

Of course God is needed, well I need him anyway. But God cannot stop wars, he can only whisper in your ear. You have Gods angels and Hells angels (they do exist, look in revelations) And they are both telling us different things. It's just hard to understand which is the right one to listen to.
People need God as someone to catch them when they fall - that if everything goes completely pear shaped then God will help them out of it, think of it like a boyfriend or something, if you love Him, then He will protect you and help you. Remember that picture of the twin towers, and the man jumping out? His faith was so perfect that he knew God was going to catch him.

Well 1st of all we have had war since time began the difference is we have sattilles covering them now.2nd. Do a little homework.
God exists so does Satan and right now Satan has a stronghold on earth,When Jesus was in the wilderness 40 days and nights Satan came to tempt him, He took Jesus to the top of the mountain and offered him this world.Turns out The Father gave this world to Jesus and when he returns.PEACE

God might be an excuse for people not to behave nicely.
People should by themselves sort out their problems rather than turning toward God.
You have nothing to wait for God, you have to do the job. Otherwise, everyone would be lazy, doing nothing because God will do the rest, like your work, providing food, raising kids..so why wars should be an exception (or any other disaster). It seems tragedy is God area of expertise...I dont think so.

no! God is totally needed in our world today. I know if we just pray to him, he will make this world a better one. God is the reason for everything. God will always be needed in this world especially that in my country (the philippines), is really poor..

as i've said, God has a reason for everything. There's a reason why he wouldn't stop the war. Maybe behind that war is the key so that all countries will be united..we never know! We just have to trust him..=)
