My grandmother was a redhead, and her hair simply faded over time. It never went a color that I'd call "grey;" I'm guessing that the core of the hair is lighter for a redhead than for other hair colors (except maybe blond), but that's just speculation on my part. I've heard of this happening with other redheads as well. Unfortunately she didn't pass it along; my hair was dark brown, and is rapidly going a DEFINITE grey.

Red hair runs in my family, my grandad is 77 and his hair has gone a lovely white blonde colour. I have red hair too, but I can honestly say I have never seen a red headed person go grey, it just seems to go whitish blonde. I've always wanted blonde hair so, hopefully, mine will go a similar colour to my grandads. The only thing is, I will be too old by then to flaunt it. lol.

I am a 53 year old redhead who has never dyed her hair and I have only started to get grey hairs coming through. Although they do seem to be blending in with the natural colour to give a sandy effect! Red hair, I understand, is the strongest and keeps its colour longer. So the answer is, yes, evenually!

I am 65 years old and have no grey hair. My hair is still a beautiful, coppery red. Even hairdressers have a hard time believing I don't color it. I also have deep turquoise blue eyes, as well, so I still get noticed - even at my age!

I get occasional white hairs, and black ones as well. I think white hair is the most common change for a genuine red head.

Yes they do, it depends whether they cover it with subtle hair dye though. All of us go grey before long :(
