One pack of dry yeast, warm water, fruit juice or crushed fruit and sugar. This is called the mash. Set it on the water heater and make sure it has a way to relieve the pressure or you will be cleaning it off the ceiling and walls. I like to use a one gallon wine bottle (you can use the bottle to brew the moonshine carefully on the stove with a cork and some copper tube). After about 4 days, filter the mash through an old t-shirt or bandanna. Every few days pour off the clear liquid and return to the water heater. Taste it and make sure its getting stronger with less sugar. You can add sugar mixed with a little water as needed until it's about as strong as it can get.

When you are ready to brew the mash stick a cork with a hole in the top in the bottle, insert at least 3 feet of copper tube into the cork. don't push it down past one inch. Make a small spool with the copper tube and shape it so you can immerse it in a large glass of ice water with the end allowed to drip the moonshine into a collection jar. Use medium-low heat. Use a spoon to taste the shine as it drips out of the end to make sure you don't get too much water at the end of the brew. If you like your shine stronger, you can re-distill.

This website should get you started off on the right foot...bear in mind, though, that to get started in home distilling can sometimes cost a small fortune, so be prepared to drop some serious coin on some of these rigs...
