how to recover my documents folder after updating new Win XP sp 2?

I had windows XP -2 . i updated it.it said data will not be lost.but now i dont see the contents of my documents folder in it. i have lost files and folders of my documents. how do i recover them.

They may be there. Try this:
Go to C:\ Documents and Settings and look in each folder with a user name (Default User, Administrator, Owner, [folder with your name], All Users. They all have a My Doc. folder and one of them might be yours!)

If you remember the name of any missing folder, do a search for it to see what can be found.
