I applied for a position at my university's library to do part-time, stupid filling work that a moron could do. Yet I was not hired to do a job that required no skill. Why? And no, I did not tell them it was a stupid worthless job.

In this day and age it is possible that a fully qualified librarian applied for the position and was hired. Too little jobs and too many people going for them and many of the applicants most likely over qualified. There could be a multitude of reasons why they hired someone else. The head librarians nephew may have applied. Dont be discouraged just try again and next time you may be lucky.

They may have thought that you would be bored doing the job and wanted to give it to an applicant that was more suited to the position and really needed the opportunity. Or perhaps you wouldn't have fit well in to the culture of their team, or there is a current staff member they could forsee you having a personality clash with. It's not always necessarily about the applicant's ability to perform the tasks of the job. Don't take it personally.

Most of the time interviewers can read how much interest an applicant has for a job. With your kind of feeling I am sorry to say that your disinterest in the nature of the job might have been detected. Most work require some passion and if you have gone in thinking that way there is no doubt they too thought you were too good for that kind of work.

Hi, I sense that you feel angry and hurt. I have been in your exact sittuation. You, my dear, are hugely over-qualified! Even though you didn't convey your opinion of your job with your words, I'm certain that it came across somehow, i.e. body language, etc. They want somebody who will actually like being there. They don't want to train a person and then have to do it again and again . Chances are, they have hired a few folks that fit your profile and had to replace them because they quit! Don't take it as an insult. Maybe God is telling to "aim higher!" When he closes the door, he opens a window! It sounds like you might need some self-esteem boosting, too. take care,Cindy

i guess your real attitude towards the jb shone through despite your efforts to hide your feelings. The question must be why did you go for this job in the first place.is it all you are capable of doing? You sound rude arrogant and basically unintelligent so I guess the job was infact far too demanding for you..why not apply for a janitors job or better still just a toilet cleaner..you should be able to get your head around that.

Are you stupid and worthless? If not, why are you applying for a stupid and worthless job? If you had any common sense, they probably dint want you because you are overqualified for the job.

the reason why you dont get hired is your not qualified for the position or maybe your not ready for the position, you must be good next time even if you dont get hired/get that position
