Theres this girl at work that I've been trying to go after, but my friend has also been flirting with her non-stop. He's one of those types thats really loud and is always doing crazy outrageous things. Whenever he comes around I lose my self-confidence and get quite which gives him the upper-hand. She talks to me way more than she does him right now (outside of work, while him only at work). Whenever its just me and her I can make her laugh and we have a good time, but he always steals my thunder when he comes around. I do not let either one of them know it bothers me, but it's getting hard to keep it bottles up. I figure, if I play it cool it should be alright. My every instinct tells me to punch him out, but I resist the urge to appear jealous. I dont know what to do, it's driving me nuts..

Resist the urge to punch him out and gather up your courage and ask her out. So what if he has a more outgoing personality than you do. We all don't have to be the life of the party. Maybe this girl prefers your personality over his, but you're never going to know unless you ask her out. All she can say is "no" and at least that will leave you free to move on and find someone that you don't feel like you're competing with your friend for. Good luck!

Well, since you know the girl socially outside of work then do whats normal. Tell her how you feel about her and then ask her out! Don't talk about the other guy to her at all or pick her brain about him! Thats important! Anyway, if she will date you then you will know she likes you and you can build a stronger foundation for keeping her with you. If this comes into play, then if the other guy is smart, he will stay away from her. Play it cool and Good Luck! Thanks, J

Don't punch him out. That's the fastest and easiest way to lose this girls attention. Also, girls love attention. This woman is getting it not only from you, but from the "office clown". Breathe. If this guy is as loud and as obnoxious as you say, he'll eventually put his fat foot in his fat mouth and you will be home free. Sit back and watch the fireworks. In the meantime, don't let him steal your "thunder". You've got her attention where it matters most. Sit back and gloat.

Right way - find out who the girl likes, and the other one move out.
Wrong way 1 - 3som
Wrong way 2 - edging the friend out

i dont like men who are loud and showy...it's not attractive...he's trying to impress her with his whiley ways...but i think this guy is shy deep down and his behaviour is a cover up....she will choose who she likes....once she sees him for the phoney he really is i think she will give him the brush off...stay being you...get some esteem and ignore him, he sounds like a right tosser...dont punch him out...it's not worth lowering yourself...just tell him to shut up and get over himself...it's obvious he cannot approach people without making a right fool of himself....deep breath kid...take the girl out...somewhere out of his way.....you dont even have to tell him...it's none of his business....also find a new friend...he is a right tit

Focus on her instead of him. Maybe she likes obnoxious or goofy loud guys. Most girls dont like that. Maybe she does or maybe its just an entertainment break from her job. Chill out and ask her out.

not really a friend he is more of a cock blocker. If you really like the girl ask her on a date and ask her how she feels about your friend. Then ask if she has any feelings for you. If you don't get any clear answers then the girl is just playing you both.

I think you need to talk to your buddy and share your feelings with him. Until then you are going to keep feeling anger and it will eventually tear your friendship with both your buddy and the girl apart.
