Safety is about protection and precaution on how works should be carrying out to prevent injury to people and properties damage.
Often, this associated with hazard, which is a potential dangerous situation; example: a pool of water on the middle of the workshop floor, possible consequence is someone may slip and fall. However, this will not happen until someone has walked and stepped onto the pool of water.
Therefore, when recognizing hazards in the workplace or at home, what measures that we took to eliminate or prevent the end results from happening is the precaution. There may be situation which we cannot remove the hazards and proper working methods or procedures and personal protection should be applied to minimize the severity of consequences.
