Everyone needs Nurses right?

How can I get into the field of Nursing with out spending a fortune?
Are any of these online degree's ligit?

There are but before you go into studying this, have a look at jobs available. If you live in the UK then don't unless you want a job in private nursing, because the NHS don't have enough money to hire nurses.

First of all make sure you like this field. Have you tried working in a nursing home in any capacity? Even as a volunteer? Or volunteer in a hospital? The job is not for everyone. There are long hours and holiday work is a must. Also regular exposure to disease and blood and body fluids.....you can develop tolerance for these things but not if you have no interest.....initially I believe its best to get in person on site degree in nursing-there are some online degrees for nurses furthering their degrees but I dont know about the inital degree, I would be very wary of it.... inthe US the quickest route to become a "nurse" is thru a community college that starts by ntering you into an LPN program, which can than continue into an RN program-which is a total of 2yrs. Really that's not much to get started into a living wage job. Then if you still want to continue, you can enter a master's program and perhaps become an advanced reg nurse practitioner. I dunno about Europe.etc. You will need to get on a wait list becasue these programs inthe US are always full. So start w fulfilling all your prerequsites while on the waiting list,by the time u r done, your turn will hopefully come up. You can take some of the prerec's on line at some colleges. You can find out if u r eligible for financial aid-grants and/or loans. Education is an investment in yourself, a very wise one, and never a waste of money.Many other things you can do in life do not have that same characteristic.
