HD ready for sure........and i have never had a problem going with the the mid priced electronics

that really depends... getting an HD ready TV isn't going to do you any good if all of your other components are standard definition. If you're going to also be purchasing a blu-ray disc player or an HD-DVD and high def cable or satellite digitial reciever, 5.1 sound... yeah, pay for a high end television. Otherwise, SDTV is fine for normal usage.
