Your misconception is found in your condescending attitude that Christians look at you as less than themselves because you are lost. On the contrary, we Christians (the real ones) look at you with compassion. We also see ourselves in our unbelieving former state. More compassion and understanding is what you should be seeing. I apologize if you are experiencing something other than compassion and understanding from my Christian brothers and sisters.
Why not dissect Islam instead. If you want real intolerance look there. Try seeing if you can visit a mosque. You will experience intolerance. Muslims are lost. I have compassion for them but if they come to kill me or my family or try to overrun my country I will be forced to defend my family, my faith and my country.

You got it wrong. It's not the religion that makes US intolerant, it's a human thing. We all are intolerant of something or someone (groups), and to push this onto believes, especially Christianity, isn't right.
I do believe in Jesus Christ, and the bible. And I do believe that you too can get to heaven WITHOUT believing in the exact thing as I do. But, what DO you believe in?
And, just to take it to another level, which "group" of Christians were you talking about? Because, even though we all believe in the same things, not all of us are condescending and are intolerant of other religions. Or even try to convert you into our religion.

The belief that Jesus is the only way to heaven is not held by ALL Christians. Unitarian Universalists in particular believe differently, and many Christians hold good manners, social etiquette, and good discussion over their religious need to convert others. Most Christians I've met are very nice, just as most Muslims Ive met are very nice, and I'm an openly Gay Atheist. We may have our differences, but most Christians rise above narrow thinking. At the same time, I've had Christians try to convert me and I've literally had rocks thrown at me. I think it depends more on the person's values and morals than on the religion they follow

Yes, Christians are intolerant without realizing they are. Not all, but I'd say at least 80% of them, probably more. I'm trying to be nice here. There are some who aren't judgemental, but they're rare. Most of them think they have the right to say anybody that's not a Christian is going to hell right to their faces. How incredibly rude. Then they have to point the finger at other people, pointing out their flaws. I think most Christians themselves need to be more like Jesus himself, who practiced kindness, and loved all people. Christians today are greatly lacking in even the basics that Jesus taught.

Being "tolerant" means letting other people believe as they wish. It does not mean you have to agree with them. However, if you really are a believing Christian, you have an obligation to OFFER the teachings of Christ to others. They have the complete right to choose the course of their lives. It seems to me we get into trouble when we attempt, in any way whatever, to force someone else to believe as we do. That course comes only from Satan, not from the true God.

Actually, I think you absolutely have to be intolerant. You have to to secure the stranglehold of hypocrisy the religious right currently has upon this country. This is why I rejected the belief when I was 10. Give me scientific basis. Something I can wrap my head around. Something about condemning others for rejecting your outlandish claims just turns me off. It's funny. I live in the bible belt and the good Christians wring their hands for your certain impending hellfire when you say you're Agnostic.

No. I am a Christian, and I don't believe that it means I have to be intolerant of other beliefs. I believe that we are not better than anyone else. A Christian is someone who has accepted the saving grace of G_d through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are called to LOVE ALL PEOPLE regardless of their belief.
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"
Neighbor and enemies can be people of different faiths.
I believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of all mankind because G_d loved us so much.

I will tell you that is exactly what I believe but I also believe that everyone has the right to choose how to livetheir life either by believing or not that does not make me better than you. If you invite me to share with you the word of God I will. If you do not I will not I will not force the issue for that is not right. If you do not want christians to assume about you and how you believe then please do not do that to us. God tells us to share not force down people's throats and that is more what you are referring to.

We Christians did not make the rules God did. Do I feel sad that you would choose to go to hell rather than heaven.....yes I do. However, God gave you free will the same as me so if that is the choice you want to make I can respect it.
