There is a ferry that runs regularly from Cozumel to Cancun - also short flight hops. It is about a 45 minute ferry ride. The ferry takes you into Playa Del Carmen and you take a Taxi from there. Many of the cruises do tours to Cancun from a Cozumel stop if there is enough time.

Your cruise ship may run tours to Cancun and its not that far away. I like Cancun much better than Cozumel, it has more activities and is more for tourists. But don't take a ferry on your own as you don't know what time it may get back and if it is late you may miss the ship. If you go on a ship's tour they will always wait for your return.
