My friend was put on Neurontin for treatment of chronic pain. Not only didn't it help but for the three days he was on it he was so depressed that I he was talking about killing himself! I did some research and found that there is a small percentage of people that had the same reaction (some attempted and even committed suicide). Enclosed are some websites revealing information about a class action lawsuit against the makers of Neurontin. If I were you I stop taking it and pursue another route to manage your pain. Good luck!

Neurontin can cause restlessness, but it shouldn't increase your leg and back pain. Do you know the source of the pain for which you are being treated?

Neurontin is an excellent drug, although no drug works for everyone, and side effects can happen with all medications. Neurontin is an anti-seizure medication, but it works very well for nerve pain. The side effects frequently wear off, and I would talk to your doctor about them, and consider staying on it for a while to determine if it will work. The insomnia can be treated by other means, if the medication's positive effects outweigh the side effects. It is hard to give to the elderly and must be used with caution, but in younger people generally it's well tolerated.

I was given Neurontin while I was in the hospital. They gave it to me for pain. I was given 300mg 3 x day. After one day of being on it, the staff could not wake me up. I had been on Dilaudid before that and had no trouble waking up, but the Neurontin knocked me out. It was very scary. I know this does not pertain exactly to your question........but maybe it will help someone else. And I also think that the doctors give Neurontin when they don't know what else to do.

Yes I have .. mabey you need to ask your doctor .. to try something else. Maby that isnt the best medicine for you .. The doctors usually will listen if you tell them .. A week is probably enough time to tell if its going to work or not...

I was on it for fibromyalgia and it made me feel worse than ever! It also made me feel so depressed! Get off of it because it is a bad medicine!

yes, i had horrible mood swings and lost a lot of friends because of it. I was doing the same dosage as you and had to stop because I was becoming paranoid and all that.
