"How on earth did the Church come to regard masturbation as ‘seriously sinful’ when the Bible is totally silent on the matter?"
the entire natural physical world, including human beings and their bodies, were created by Satan. They began to teach that the human body and its functions, especially its ‘sexual functions’ were totally evil, and tolerated only because there was no other way to produce children. For the first time masturbation was said to be evil, for two reasons: it ‘wasted one’s life force’, which they believed was limited in supply; and it was pleasurable.
As for masturbation, this was never mentioned in the Scriptures, nor was it ever listed as a sin in the horrendously detailed lists of sins in books like Leviticus.

If God wanted us to do this thing, then why would he have created adam a mate. No religion says that it is but it does say that it is best for a man to put his seed into an harlot than to waste it . So there you have it masturbating is not a clean thing to do and one can bear no children and it is not the natural thing God intended for sexual pleasure. The bible tells you how one should satisfy the flesh sexually.

It is a no no in Christianity. You should not waste your seed. Masturbation puts the needs of the flesh over spiritual needs.

well, i don't know about what religion but what i think is , in the bible u are not to think lustful thoughts so if u can masterbate and not think lustful thoughts then i don't think its against the bible
