Paganism is any religion other than the Abrahamic monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
The term pagan is from Latin paganus, an adjective originally meaning "rural", "rustic" or "of the country." So Paganism covers a broad catagory of religions that are "folk religion". Usually polytheistic, Paganism includes religions like Animism, Shamanism, Ancestor Worshiping, Celtism, Unitarianism, and Shinto to name a few.

I believe most would classify it as a religion; it has a theology and rituals, and beliefs concerning the nature and purpose of existence. Likewise, paganism involves a moral code. All these together mean that it meets the definition of a religion.

Some people believe paganism to be a religion within itself; others see it as a belief system (such as monotheism) that can be incorporated into religions like Wicca or Druidism; others see it as a broad category including many religions.

If by religion you mean a set of morals and values that to which you live your life by, then yes, Paganism is definitely a religion. It is also an umbrella under which many other religious paths live.

From what I could ascertain from reading about Paganism, it is a religion in which they feel all things (plants, animals, all of nature) have souls and they seem to worship the godesses of various things.

Are you ignorant or just stupid? Paganism is a set of religions ranging from Asatru to Zoroastrianism. It is defined as any religion that does not have the standard Christan/Hebrew/Muslim god.

I'm glad you asked. Paganism is like a tree and the branches are many different spiritual beliefs like Hindu, Buddha, and Wicca. To be pagan you can believe in one god or many gods and goddesses, or no god.

What is it with you and all the quedtions on paganism? It looks llike you are trying to beat them to death. From what I know pagans absolutely do not believe in God and worship idols. Which every idol is of something that God created. How ironic.
