Where did the idea of sin and punishment come from in human psychology and later in religion? why do we think that God would punish us if we have sinned, arent we atributing human psycholgy to God by perceiving him as a parent who would punish the sinful ones ? did the idea of sin originate from the global natural disasters that we cant stop as in the deluge of Noah and later have perceived them as punishments to sins?

The idea came from a single thing. Control, the heads of religions since ancient times have wanted control over the followers of their religions. By saying that if they didn't follow the laws of the religion god would punish them they maintained a level of control over people more potent than that of many governments.

It all came from parents (grandparents, uncles/aunts), raising and controlling the family children. As the smallest community is the family unit. When the family gets larger, the extended family grows, then suddenly you've a village, but still connected as a family. The oldest set the rules and the stronger enforced them. The oldest also answered all the questions asked by the family, as she/he were the wisest.
I of course do not know, this is a guess.

Calling bad things we do "sins" began as a way to keep people in line... threaten them with something awful by an all-supreme being... promise them eternal life. It's a system of rewards and punishments. Do many sins and you will get punished.

It's also what the radical Muslims do when training suicide bombers... promise them hundreds of virgins in the afterlife if they kill as many infidels as they can.

It's an awful way to treat your creations if you ask me. Not only that, but to then require us to eat and drink his son's flesh and blood in order to cleanse ourselves? Pretty gruesome if you ask me.
