This is going to sound like a flame-war question, but I actually want to know something.
If god is considered an actual being, and yet he is infinite as far as time is concerned, how can he exist? This means that there was no beginning to his existence, in which case how did he come to be?
And how, as a being of infinite power, knowledge etc, can he exist. Being infinite implies never ending. If god existed, He couldn't have infinite knowledge because there would always be one more thing he would know. Hence you could not settle on a single entity
I dont know if this even makes sense, late night.
So basically what I am asking is that with the infinite definition of a god, could he exist?

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!
Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!
Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?
My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:
Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...
Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...
Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

In our search for God, we're not asking what caused God to "come into being", but we're effectively asking if there is a being whose existence stands independent of time -- rather, time itself owes its existence to this being. With this understanding, it's somewhat of a categorical mistake to ask of God what caused him to "come into being" since there was no "time" in which God did not exist. So i don't think God's eternality commits us to think that God's existence persists through an infinite series of temporal moments... it makes more sense to think of God's eternality in terms of timelessness.
But what about omniscience? That a being could be all-knowing, as mind-boggling as it may seem to us finite beings, doesn't seem impossible for a being who has created all there is to know of the universe, and can have maximal perfect knowledge (i.e., a being that believes all true propositions and no false ones). Unless there's an argument against that, I'm not sure how it's logically impossible.

Anything is possible. in a very real way, we cannot ever KNOW for sure that God exists. Christians can point to the bible as proof of God's existence but the bible is merely a book written and published by man... it is not proof. Atheists can say they've never seen proof of God's existence... but not seeing does not disprove existence.
All we can ever say is that we do not know BUT this or that thing supports or does not support the possibility of God's existence.
I'm on the "I've seen no proof he exists" side but I know plenty of people on the other side. makes for lively conversation. :-)

That is the main question I came down to when I did my own personal soul searching to figure out religion and what it is I truly believe in and all that jazz........After many months of seeking answers to the question of Life the only conclusion I could come to was NO. I honestly did want to believe in God and didn't expect to realize that I don't. But when you look at the facts....that piece doesn't fit the puzzle for me.

This is where faith comes in. You have to believe that He is ws and always will be. It is the only logical explanation and after reading and sudying it it is real.
