particular, that could be a sturdy time to connect, he seems to choose the college funds and private loan reimbursement incentives provided by ability of the USAR. I spent 18 years as a militia recruiter and could admit I heard recruiters from all branches, for complete time provider, tell some real whoppers. Reserve recruiters on the different hand, tend to tell the right actuality, as they be attentive to it, for the ordinary actuality that their enlistees, in assessment to those going widely used militia, are in easy terms going to be long gone for type of 6 months and then they are back. If the Reserve recruiter lied and he's speaking to the acquaintances of the guy he lied to, who're the acquaintances going to have faith? As a good distance a deployment is going, there is not any assure he won't be deployed, yet he might in easy terms could carry out the activity he's experienced for, with the information that, if the undesirable men start up taking photos, he will could shoot back. that's the militia, in spite of everything.

He is better off joining while hes young. But if hes joining for the money hes not going to be happy. Now on the other hand... if he wants to join to serve the country i'd look into it more.

The army reserves have a lower deployment rate then the guard last I checked.

It's always a good time to join the Army Reserves for many reasons......few extra dollars, chance to travel etc.
Besides, it's the patriotic thing to do.
The only drawback about signing up now is that your country is at war or at the brink of war with so many other nations.

IT IS ALWAYS A BAD TIME TO JOIN ANY MILITARY. ALL MILITARY IS A PIECE OF CRAP. I know because I was in the marines for a while, then army cause i was stupid enough to think that they only make marines clean out toilet bowls. And i mean litteraly clean and smell crap from toilet bowls and do other janitorial work. To become a marine you are the same thing as becoming a janitor. So i then join the army thinking it is more like military. Guess what? turned out the came crap. :(

Anytime is a bad time to join the Army Reserves. Didn't you listen to George W Busch, back home at the ranch and the oil fields. Pay check makes it so bad.

All depends what his job will be.
Infantry or other combat kind of job. There are many many jobs in the military. And I have heard that only about 10% do the actual fighting. There are a huge amount of clerks and cooks and support personel. Mechanics, pilots, air traffic controllers, radio repair...it goes on and on.

Yes! it is a bad time, specially for anyone under 30.
Tell him to get a job, go to school.
It's not worth it to go get killed fighting for another countries that can't wait for us to be gone (for those who don't agree on that just wait and see) and a few $ that he may never get to use.
Don't let the travel thing seduce you and don't let the already brainwashed people get you either, I know I got a few mad people but they can handle it, they are soldiers.
