How about a Bible in english for english speaking people...why do we have to make do with ancient fragments of nomadic scripts bundled together by who knows whom and edited changed and falsified and added to? and we are supposed to lap this up as something of inestimable spiritual worth...can't God do better than this?

Because God didt write the Bible. Delusional men did.

Your assuming that its been changed, falsified and added to. Do you know this for a fact. You answered your own question within the question, that God is all powerful and knew exactly how his word would turn out. The Bible would not exist if it eventually mislead people. And if the Bible is wrong then there is no need for any faith in God.

First off, I'll just say that you should study more about the original texts that have been found - you might be suprised.

Here are some online sources you can study up with:

Second - about God not "poof" giving us a Bible in English - do you really think that it would make a difference?

Jesus did all kinds of miracles and people didn't believe - in fact, they killed him! Sometimes we wish for something, but in the end, what we wish for is not necessary nor proper.

No one can say in the end that God did not make it clear - he has made it clear, but we choose to deny - for we love the darkness, and hate the light, because it exposes us, and calls us wicked. Does anyone like to be called wicked?

The real question is, why would God need to write a book anyway??? Seriously, didn't he know that a good majority of his subjects would be illiterate?

If a God really wrote the Bible, then reading would be a infant milestone, like walking and crawling. Or possible, God should have been the first inventor of the audiobook.

We have Bibles in English thanks to Christian experts in Greek and Hebrew. God chooses to work through people. Why is it that the Bible is the most translated, best selling book on the planet?
