no sane person on this earth will say a suicide committed by a person if he had severe depression or psychiatric problem and is not in a position to judge whether it is right or wrong.but it is always better for the family members of that person to take that person if he suffers from acute depression or any mental as well as physical illness.my answer is based on the scientific principles of psychology and not based on irrational dogmatic religious beliefs followed by stupids

Despends on what religion you are. For me as an Atheist absolutely not (because we don't have sin). Best answer I can give is that th Catholic church and many other Chistian churches beleive that for any action to be a sin it must fall into both of these categories:
1.You must know that the action is wrong.
2.You must be acting in your own free will.
If you don't know it is wrong it is not a sin. If a 2 year old gets ahold of a gun and shoots someone they did not sin beacue they don't have knowledge of good or bad. So to answer your question No it is not a sin.

Thank goodness God judges the heart and knows all things even the purposes and intents of the heart. If the suicide was simply to get back and hurt people, God would know it, if it was done because of depression, God would know that too. I don't really think there is any sure way to tell one way or the other because only god alone will judge it.

Iused to believe that was the only unforgivable sin because you cannot ask for forgiveness for it. However Ihave learned that it is forgivable due to the state of peoples minds. Since God knows all He knows what is going through a persons mind and their mind state. So I do believe it is forgivable also He is a very loving God full of compassion and understanding.

No, and most churches now believe that as well. Even the catholicchurch is giving funerals for obviously mentally ill people. I went to one just a year ago.

People who cannot distinguish between right and wrong will not be accountable for their actions before God.
However, this is not the same as pleading insanity in court. God knows who among us are sane and who are not.

It's not a sin, it's a persons own choice what they do with their life.
