A baby's bones aren't completely formed yet. They're still very soft so that one: they're able to get through the birth canal okay, and two: makes them so they're not as fragile as everyone would like to think.

The popping noise you hear when you crack your joints is hydrogen bubbles breaking apart. Babies don't have that build up of hydrogen in their joints that adults do, so the noise you were hearing was not your baby's bones popping. It could have been your bones cracking. Popping your bones can't always be felt, so it's very likely that it was you.

Nope. Infants are primarily cartilage, which is very flexible as to be able to pass through the birth canal. It wouldn't make a sound under all that fluid either. I would be fairly concerned. Self- diagnosis is never a good idea. Its probably not her bones at all.

I'm not a mother but my wife is pregnant with our second child. The movement is never accompanied but bone-cracking sounds. I think you should get is checked, call your doctor and ask.
