Hey Bubbles,
I am a mother of 5 and believe I know where your coming from.. I think that laughing about ones own misfortune is natural and healthy especially when there was no physical issues the arose from the accident. I can understand your husbands complaint about you laughing because that was the first he heard of it and was feeling what you were feeling when it first happened so I am sure he did not appreciate it your mirth... but what he does not understand is that your laughter has to do with stress being relieved BECAUSE nothing damaging happened and you both learned a valuable lesson.. I think you should talk to him about it since it is not good for one spouse to feel like the other spouse doesn't care.. Good Luck but don't feel bad it happens to the best of us!

kids get hurt whether we watch them 24-7 or take our eyes away for 2 seconds. thats just life. I once was getting my then 2 year old ready to go out to the store. it was winter and there was snow on the ground. i put his stroller outside. i got his snow suit on. i took him outside and put him on the sidewalk while i went back to close the door. he started crying. i looked back and i had forgotton to put his shoes and socks or boots on. talk about feeling like a bad mother. that was 20 years ago. some people look shocked when i tell them about this others laugh. he survived as all kids do. he is a well adjusted 22 year old now

I think **** happens with kids. When my little niece was a toddler, I was baby-sitting her and she bonked her head on the faucet in the tub. I, of course, felt terrible. She cried, but then--as kids usually are--was fine after a few minutes. I was so upset about it, but the next day she was laughing about her 'bonk head'. I say, if there's no permanent damage, then it's okay to laugh. Now, go watch the "Monica bang" episode of FRIENDS ( you know, the one where she bangs Ben's head on the wall and puts a rain hat on him to cover up the bump). :)

if she took off running and landed in the laundry basket full of clothes, i'd say that was funny, and would laugh telling hubby that, but banging her head on the floor, sorry everyone, but I agree with her husband, I don't find any humor in that at all...

Sounds like your laughter was just tension being released after a traumatic event. Don't worry about it. Just don't laugh at inappropriate times over pain or misfortune

Its quite common thing not only you even we laugh at the things happened earlier. It may be very serious at that time but later we feel laughing thinking of that incident.

if no one got hurt im sure you are just being lighthearted about it now. Its the same thing that happens when a friend trips on the sidewalk. They are fine , but its just human nature to laugh.

I've been there. I have three kids, and trust me, if you beat yourself up over this, then your in trouble, cause you've got a long way to go in raising your little girl. Get your laughs in every chance you get. Shes OK.

Sometimes your not making a big deal out of it helps your child not make a big thing of it.. and seems to me.. once the emergency was over.. you relaxed enough to laugh about it.. Tell the Mr lighten up.
