Disgrace????? Why it would be a disgrace for not able to cook? It absolutely isn't a problem at all.

Even men in Asia do not expect their girl friends or wives to cook for them because most women work full time or they hire domestic helpers. Sometimes, eating out is cheaper then cooking at home!

I like cooking a lot and it spices up my life as hobby, I do not need to cook at all. My dad occupies the kitchen as he is the best cook in the house! Should I refer my dad as a grace!

I think that everyone should know how to cook in some small way, even if it's out of a box~ especially young ladies who are soon to be WOMEN. This is not about the old`en days it's just about being perpared for life. Is a Female who can't cook a disgrace maybe in some ways ~ YES. I have a 11 year old who knows how to cook & bake. As a mater of fact she manages her self quite well in the kitchen.

If you can read then there is no reason to NOT know how to cook &/or bake!

No problem at all. Times have changed so much that it is not unusual to have the man doing all the things the woman use to do,
raise the kids, cook, clean house, do the shopping. I don't think it is unusual for the man to do the cooking, and I know some men who are better cooks than their wives. My husband is a wonderful cook, it just so happens that I love to cook and am just as good a cook as he is. There is nothing that says "cooking is for woman only".

Absolutely NOT. A person's skills in any single task can in no way define that person's worth, or value. The only disgrace would be one that feels that way about someone else. If she wants to learn to cook, she should for herself, not because someone thinks she needs to know how to cook to make herself worthwhile as a person. I hope this was just a hypothetical question and not something you are experiencing. Good luck!!

That would be type casting! Like girls only play with Barbie dolls and boys only play with G.I. Joe!

I don't think that it should be a disgrace that a female can't cook! It merely means that she will excel in other fields Maybe she is going to be the next President?!!

No not a problem at all, if you try then its always a opportunity to learn by your mistakes, failing that you can buy very good ready made meals now so you can cheat. If your cooking a special meal for a friend suggest making it together, have a drink and a laugh while doing it, it wont be too serious and if it goes wrong you can share the blame and have a giggle as well.

Why Disgrace?!

I have several friends who did not know how to cook and after they married, they learned from their husbands.

Of course, if you have no interest in learning and cooking in future, you need to ensure that your future husband is aware of it and he has no problem with cooking on a daily basis.

Well, of course it's better if she can cook but if she can't, I'm sure she's got other great qualities...Not at all a disgrace.
