My suggestion is not to park in NYC anyways. If you're coming from the south, Park somewhere in NJ and take the NJ Transit in. Best, safe, and cheap. Other than that North or East, I have now clue.

Check out the Metro North web site (you can google it) and look for Park & Ride stations on the routes north of NYC. Have you ever considered driving into NYC? If you are coming in on Sunday, it is a relatively easy thing to do--the traffic is very well regulated in Manhattan--and it is not a driving is somewhat a pleaure. Enjoy your stay in New York!

East of Manhattan, or all of NYC ? East of All of NYC will put you on LONG ISLAND, East of Manhattan will put you in Brooklyn, or Queens (Technically part of L.I. but, the people that live there refuse to believe a map).
