My cat is about two years old and she has something called seizures once in a while. It may sound funny but it's not.
Do any of you people have a cat like that too?
The vet ran a blood test and there wasn't any liver or kidney problem. He said she's just going to live like that. Someone please conversate with me? Everytime my cat goes through a seizures she always leave behind pee, I don't want her like that for the rest of her life, concidering she only has 6 left from 3 seizures incidents. No she doesn't bleed or foam afterward, she just... goes back to what she does. Watching her have seizures is almost watching her die in pain.
For once my cat decided to sleep with me so she crawled onto my blanket for three hours as I slept on the couch. And I remember I was dreaming but I still felt something shaking, and I woke up franticly. It's not cool seeing her like that. It's so called normal to many dogs but may also occur but may also occur in cats.
Thanks.

I already had a blood test for her, to check if she's having any liver and kidney problem. None. I don't believe she has brain tumor or anything else either. The doctor just told me I'll have to deal with her like that. It somewhat runs in the family like humans have it.

I would defintely get a second opinion. A blood test is not enough. I had a beloved kitty who had seizures, copious tests were run, some very truamatic to both me & my kitty. I just would not give up. A new vet diagnosed congestive heart failure & nothing could be done. A doctor once told ME about an unusual symtom: "I guess you're just going to have to live with it." I demanded further testing, as you should with your kitty, discovered the cause which could be serious & needs monitoring, so please don't settle for this! The "pee" doesn't necessarily have anything to do with her liver or kidneys. In seizure, control of bodily functions is tenuous at best. I know how you feel; it's quite frightening. Don't give up!

Cats are very difficult to diagnose and treat. You could get a second opinion from another vet. Most vets will prescribe phenobarbitol for feline seizures. The medication is inexpensive but the periodic blood tests required is expensive.
Cats do not have nine lives. They only have one life. It's up to you to make sure your kitty has a safe, loving & comfortable life now that she has developed seizures. Consider the options and if you can't handle seeing her through the seizures, you can ask that the vet put her to sleep.
I have a 14 year old cat that I love so much and chose to care for instead of having him put to sleep. So I do understand where you are coming from. Good luck!

Ignore Stanitruk, everyone's cat is going to die at some point or another, he/she is just being deliberately unkind. First of all, I'd take your cat back to the vet and ask whether there is any medication she can have to help control the seizures, as it is very distressing to you to have to watch her go through them and she loses control of her bladder, which isn't healthy for your furnishings! I would also keep an eye open for any trigger situations - things that seem to make her have a seizure (flashing lights or too hot/too cold etc). Its possible that you may be able to help her by making sure she avoids those sorts of situations. Hope you can get her fixed up soon!

I have had seizures before and I peed during one of them. It is not something that you can control. It did not hurt for me by any means to have a seizure, I just kinda blanked out though.
I am sorry to hear about the pee. I know that would probably get a little gross. It is sad to say, but if you want to keep her in the house, you may just want to buy a small portable steam cleaner for your carpet or just be prepared to clean wherever she leaves a mess. She doesn't mean to : (

Did the vet start her on any medication? Or do any diagnostic tests. She could have a tumor in her brain or something. Maybe you should get a second opinion. I don't think I could watch her have seizures day after day. It sounds like it could be dangerous for her and like she may be suffering. Have a good talk with you vet about what you should do. Good luck.

Not sure about cat's but some dogs that have seizure disorder are placed on phenobarbital...maybe ask your vet about a preventative maintence med she can stay on to help.. Good Luck.

Yes, seisures are common to all species. They are healthy and have a wonderful life besides that. If it is not life threatening, just learn to live with it, like your cat has. Don't ever consider killing the poor thing because YOU have a problem with this. If YOU had seisures form time to time, I am sure you wouldn't choose to die instead.
It is not a serious problem, by the way, really.

Your cat is epileptic. She has Epilepsy and needs to be medicated.
The doctor can prescribe something to make her stop having seizures.
My husband is epileptic. He still thinks life is worth living. I'm sure your cat feels the same.
