well Im not that knowledgable on armadillos but as far as dogs eating wild critters, you have to remember they are dirived from wolves n such so pretty much they eat what they can catch....there are a couple people on here that say armadillos can carry leprosy but Im finding that hard to believe, Im gonna chck it out when Im done here.....the only way you can think it maybe your fault is that the dog wa left unsupervised but other than that , dogs are like kids they get into things and honestly I dont see youas a bad pet owner or anything, **** happens you do your best but well like I said they're like kids you cant watch em EVEY second of the day & you just have to hope for the best!! a lot of peopl on here are SO holier than thou, lke they've NEVER messed up in their whole lives....best advice Id give you is to give your vet a call in the AM & double check as to any problems that you may want to keep a eye out for, the fact that armadillos have armor might be an issue as far as digestion/passing the remains, but dogs eat all kinds of stuff & are usually alright...I had a dog eat the cord out of my electric blanket & the handle to a wooden hammer & she never had any problems, but Id still check w your vet just to be sure & keep a close eye on her for a bit for any out of the norm behavior...ie: lack of eating/drinking, vomitting, lethargicness, odd behavior things like that...BEST OF LUCK

Well- it's your fault because you should always supervise your dog. Think of them like children. They get in anything and everything and dont know any better one way or another... so, like with a child, YOU have to be the one to watch what they do for their safety and for others as well. Pitbull or not, you still have to watch over him, as their trust goes onto you to take care of them.
Now, an armadillo, like any wild animal, can carry certain diseases- so if you truly care for your dog's wellbeing, as it sounds like you do or else you wouldnt be asking such a question, then take him to the vet. Better safe than sorry, right?
Just remember, everyone makes mistakes, what makes us all the better of people is when we learn from the mistakes we've made. Perhaps from now on, supervise your dog better, being he obviously is quite curious with things such as armadillos...

i imagine you should be gazing out for this dogs . if he ate an armadillo then you extremely must have a muzzle on him . if he were given out and changed into operating around the community then you extremely must be fortunate that each one he killed changed into an armadillo. you want to imagine b4 having this style of dogs. What if that were a small new child that he killed? I advise i do no longer care in case you stay 100 miles from city there are continually going to be ppl with youthful toddlers round. merely be carefull once you've each one of those dogs. you should be a forcefull proprietor and enable them understand who's the dominant being .solid luck to you.

Why do you think it is your fault? I think probably so, I do not know if they are poisonous or not, but if they are, you may want to take him to a vet.

pitbulls are weird, I wouldn't jeep one around, they're bred to kill. And it doesn't matter how good they've been, when the killer instinct kicks in, they'll kill... question is, did you feed him well? if not that would be your fault.... but even then... he's a pitbulll so nope, it's not your fault.

He'll be fine may get a case of gastroenteritis but less likely than if you cooked him a t-bone and fed it to him.
