It must be hard to have a relationship with someone that has such a tie to another woman and have such a constant reminder of that (the child) but if the mother is interferring past the relationship of being the other parent of the child and your partner doesn't want her too, he needs to put her in her place. SHe could be testing your patience and boundaries since this is a new relationship and remeber you are tredding on the territory she used to stand on and is probably hard for her. She is probably just thinking of their child also and wants to make sure that the girl has enough time with her father. It is hard to say without knowing how she acts like she is still with him. My advice if your boyfriend doesn't do what you think needs to be done with the ex, then I would take that as a sign now that your relationship is early on and leave him with that. YOu need to decide if this relationship is worth compromising and being patient or ending it before you get hurt or get too attached to the boyfriend and his child. Good liuck.

leave him sorry but this women will always be in YOUR life as long as your with him and she will ALWAYS have control over him since she had his kid so if you can't handle it now when you've only been together a month how about after a year or two years of this. Leave him before you get too emotionally attached

You need to accept that she has been a part of his life as they have a child together. Try to know her a bit (talk to her) and its up to your ex to show that between them its over and that he has moved on but still care about his child,

what is life all about..... the children.
there will always be a child in his life, wether he has moved on or not. When your in a relationship with someone, you have to accept who they are, skeletons and all, if you want to continue the relationship.

If he has a child by her, they will always have a connection and will be in contact with each other for the well-being of the child. You will have to learn to deal with it.

I have the same problem,
except my boyfriend dosn't have a kid
with his ex.
Sometimes, the kid could make all the difference.
Maybe she wants to stick around so her kid will
grow up knowing its father....

He needs to tell her to back off. If he can't do that, he's not ready for another relationship.
