Yep. My kids were on the computer, finding things from an early age. I think it's the amount of exposure to the medium - some kids can use the TV remote and run the VCR and DVD player by this age, others can read by age of three.
Question - is she finding them by shape of word recognition, or is she actually reading? I'd promote reading as much as possible right now, give her a head start for school and life. I could read at three, and I've never regretted it.

Well, my 16 month old knows how to get on the computer and pull up Dora the Explorer (Nick jr.com). I think how she does it is she comes in and pushes the Enter key which pulls up the internet (after it's been highlighted from the previous user ie. my husband or I) and then hits the Enter button again which pulls up bookmarks and Nick Jr. It freaked me out the first time I caught her do it, but then I just sat back and watched. It's kind of a neat trick.

Its what they're doing these days - and when they get a little older they use the computer as if its an extension of themselves. I've always noted the difference between my own deliberate hand movements when using the computer and my daughter's kind of "waving around" her arms in a way that make the computer seem like its an extension of her arms and hands. I'm fine with the computer, but her generation takes computer-use to "a-whole-nother" level.

Second, "The sponge" comment. The little one will be soon deleting your data to gain your attention for good or ill. You should backup everything you wish to have later NOW. Right NOW.
Don't ever say you weren't warned. Children don't want the world, they want to understand the world and will do whatever it takes to get that. Includes much destruction in order to understand: Be Prepared.
Computers are one thing, finding out what the plug socket in the wall does is another. Neighbors kid stuck the tongue in a plug socket to taste it. Taste, touch, smell, hear, sight. Kids will do all of them. Be Prepared.

She is just right. The schools want the kids to know their ABC's and Numbers before they start now. With her knowing how to use a computer she will be a the beginning of her class.

Absolutely! My 3 year old could easily do that as well as load in her own discs for her games. It's a matter of remembering 'pathways', not really understanding exactly what they're doing (at least that's what it looked like). But it is awesome to watch them in action, nonetheless! One of her favorite sites for 3-8 year olds was this: http://www.tvokids.ca/ Maybe your daughter will like it too!

Kids are wonderfull. At that age, they pick up entirely new languages with ease where as an adult, they'd have more difficulty. Kid's minds are like sponges. It's entirely normal and kudos! Your kid is adept at surfing the internet. Have her go to sites like space.com (where she can at least appreciate the pictures) or other informational web sites. Let her learn as much as she can.
