Have you ever seen Rowan Atkinson Live in Boston? That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen when he was toasting the bride and groom.
Maybe you could say (months, years ago) I saw this beautiful woman approach me in a bar and I was feeling really macho. I turned on all the charm and she looked into my eyes and said "I think your friend is hot." Talk about ruin your night.
And about the broken ankle, say I always knew drinking and driving was a dangerous thing to do. But I didn't know that drinking and walking was so dangerous.

well i think that story is funny enough, but that reminds me of a degree commercial where this guy is giving a best man speech and he goes, " so i told steve why buy the cow when you can the milk for free?" but i wouldn't suggest using that! good luck with your speech, i'm sure whatever you say from the heart is going to mean something special to your friend and his wife and the less pre-planned it is the better!

there are sites on here to help with speech writingand you can actually pay someone to write your speech for you... keep it short and sweet.. add some humor
