The other evening, I was standing on my front porch, and every time I blinked, I noticed this little tiny pin hole sized light, or white dot darting in whatever direction I moved my eye. At first I thought it was something on my bangs that was dangling very close to my eye, but discovered it was actually something to do with my eye , not my hair. It doesn't hurt, nor does it blurr my vision, but in a way I have a sensation of something in my eye, but can't see it. A few years ago I suffered a nasty abrasion on my eye, but it healed up nicely, and there were no further symptoms . What is causing that little dot like light

Seeing flashes of light means photopsia. This usually present when the retina (inner part of the eye) is mechanically stimulated like in retinal detachment or posterior vitreous detachment.. Seek an eye specialist consultation immediately.
Classical migraine headache also present with flashes of lights (aura).

i see that dot all the time most especially when i am deep in thought and i'm not aware of my surroundings or when its dark and i have only one source of light like my computer screen. its quite fun to manipulate. it goes in whatever direction your eyes go. i'm actually seeing it right now. lol

I have this also. I will be doing something and all the sudden it will look like a little lightning bolt going to the left or right. It drives me nuts and I have no idea what causes it.

I believe what your having is some dead cells that floated to your eyes..it may or may not go away. if it is what I had, that is what the eye doctor told me. mine went away but I still get them every now and then. good luck

see an eye doctor...seeing sparks can mean your retina is detaching...i don't know about a single dot but I wouldn't mess with my vision.
