It NEVER hurts to be tested for HIV, especially in this day and age, and there's absolutely NO shame involved. I was tested twice a year apart just to be sure, and all results are completely confidential. And, it will certainly give you peace of mind; it did for me!

If you have reason to believe you may be infected, then by all means get tested. The CDC is currently recommending that everyone in the US between the ages of 13 and 64 be routinely tested for HIV during other procedures such as an annual physical. This testing would be strictly voluntary, not mandated. Retesting would be done on a periodic basis, per your approval.

Yes, everyone should get tested for HIV, especially if you recieved a transfusion before 1990.

Yes hospitals do test for HIV when you go into the hospital but they will not tell you the results. Those results are oinly for hospital staff. You ahve to go to a clinic that gives HIV tests in order to get the results.

HIV testing and its result is always confidential. But you should be able to obtain the results of your own test. In the hospital as an inpatient, they will even get your consent if the doctor orders for the test to be done.

most of the time your gyn will test you for hiv if you ask him or her to, i was just there today and they ask me, although i have been tested in the past, i no longer worry about it as much i think we all worry now about some unexplained weight loss and flu like symtoms , or loss of bowels are some of the signs and it takes up to ten years to show up so I think maybe ask your female specialist for a test and good luck to you love mystical
